Meeting religious dignitaries and deacons in the provinces of Tra Vinh and Soc Trang

The Southwest Steering Committee in collaboration with the Hồ Chí Minh National Academy of Politics and Public Administration and the Party Committee of Tra Vinh and Soc Trang province held a meeting with religious dignitaries and deacons in the provinces to inform about the implementation results of religious policies of the Party and State. More than 150 dignitaries, religious in religions and prestigious people in the ethnic Khmer community attended the meeting.

At the meeting, delegates heard about the implementation results of the Party and State’s policies on religion and ethnic minorities. Through its policies and State's investment supporting programs, the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities has been considerably improved, proactively contributing to hunger eradication and alleviation of poverty. Participants were also informed about the history of the Southern lands; the traditional solidarity between religions and ethnic groups in the Mekong River delta.

From 2007 to present, the Southwest Steering Committee held more than 200 meetings with dignitaries, religious in religions and prestige people in ethnic minorities with the participation of nearly 80,000 people.
