The Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) in collaboration with Dien Bien provincial People’s Committee organized three legal workshops for local Protestants and officials on March 27 - 31.
The workshop on practices of Protestantism was attended by over 200 dignitaries, deacons and key followers in charge of Protestant congregations in Dien Bien province.
The two workshops on the state administration on Protestant affairs has over 180 district-level officials and 200 key commune and village-level carders in the province.
Speakers at the events included Acting Director of the GCRA’s Protestant Affairs Department Thiều Thị Hương and Vice Chairman of the provincial Home Affairs Department Lê Hữu Khang.
During the workshops, participants learnt about the Party and State’s policy and law on religion in general and Protestantism in particular; Protestantism in the world and Vietnam; contents of the new Law on belief and religion relating the state administration on Protestantism. As part of workshops, participants also engaged in discussion of practical issues relating Protestant practices in the province.
These are three out of five training workshops organized by the GCRA in March this year in the North mountainous region.
