Lam Dong province reviews five-year implementation of coordination program on religious affairs

On March 4, Lam Dong provincial Department of Home Affairs in collaboration with political-social associations held a conference to review five-year implementation of the coordination program on religious affairs in the 2010 – 2015 period.

Attending the conference included representatives from the provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization, the provincial Department of Home Affairs and political –social organizations.

According to a conference report, for the last years, the coordination program on religious affairs between the Department of Home Affairs and local social associations has brought practical results. The Department of Home Affairs in collaboration with the local organizations organized five religious training courses for 650 commune-level officials. The main contents of training course covered the Resolution No 25-NQ/TU of the 9th Party Central Committee on religious affairs, the Ordinance on Belief and Religion, Decree No.92//2012/NĐ-CP detailing and providing measures for the implementation of the Ordinance on Belief and Religion, Directive No. 01 / CT-TTg of the Prime Minister on some tasks relating Protestantism and local implementation guidelines, etc.

From successes and limitations pointed out during the conference, the provincial Department of Home Affairs and local organizations pledged to sign another coordination program for the period 2016-2020. The coordination works would include the dissemination of the Party’s policies and State’s laws on religious affairs for officials  working on state religious affairs, religious dignitaries, followers and members of the local associations; organizations of conferences to praise typical religious dignitaries and followers in the local movements in the locality, etc. 

At the conference, Lam Dong provincial People’s Committee presented certificates of merit to ten collectives and nine individuals for their outstanding contributions in the mass mobilization work in the 2010-2015 period.
