Lam Dong promotes religious dignitaries’ role in ensuring public security and order

For the past years, prestigious people in ethnic minority areas and religious dignitaries have made many practical contributions to public security and order in Lam Dong province.

Lam Dong province is a mountainous province in the South of the Central Highlands region with the area of 9,773 km and 43 ethnic groups.

Prestigious people in ethnic minorities and religious dignitaries have well promoted their role as a bridge between local people and authorities. Mass movements to protect the national security and promote prestigious people and religious dignitaries’ role in ethnic minorities have received eager support from local authorities.

The provincial Public Security in collaboration with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and local authorities has launched the movement for protection of the national security in the province. In response to this movement, there have been many typical models involved religious participations such as “religions in Lam Dong province ensure traffic safety” “Catholic establishments ensure traffic safety” in Di Linh district, “Catholic parish without crimes and social evils” in Loc Thanh commune, “peaceful Catholic residential areas” in Bao Loc city.

Through these models, outstanding contributions by typical religious individuals have been acknowledged and honored by local authorities including Priest of Di Linh congregation, Head of the Committee for Catholic Solidarity in Di Linh district Trần Thả and Most Venerable Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Committee Thích Pháp Chiếu.
