Kien Giang province: Religious committee disseminates religious laws to dignitaries of Khmer Theravada Buddhism

Kien Giang provincial Committee for Religious Affairs held a conference on December 4 for disseminating religious laws to dignitaries of the Khmer Theravada Buddhism.
Attending the event included Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Hoàng Oanh, representatives of the provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Committee and about 100 dignitaries of the Khmer Theravada Buddhism.
Contents covered during the conference included Ordinance on Belief and Religion, Decree No. 92/2012/2013/NĐ-CP dated 8/11/2012 of Government detailing and providing measures for the implementation of the Ordinance on Belief and Religion, Circular No. 01/2013/TT-BNV dated 18/5/2015 issuing forms of administrative procedures on belief and religion, Decision 14/2015/QĐ-UBND dated 18/05/2015 of the provincial People's Committee on competence of administrative agencies in the State governance on religious practices in Kien Giang province.
This was the 4th as well as final conference for disseminating religious laws for religious dignitaries in the province in 2015.
Kien Giang province has many operative religions, in which the Khmer Theravada Buddhism is one of three Buddhist sects in the province with 75 temples, nearly 1,000 dignitaries and over 200 thousand of followers.
