Khanh Hoa province: VBS sends three Buddhist monks to Truong Sa islands

At the military port of Cam Ranh in the south-central province of Khanh Hoa, the Naval High Command Zone 4 organized a ship to visit and give Tet gifts to people and soldiers in Truong Sa island district on January 5.

Joining the trip includes three Buddhist monks sent by Khanh Hoa provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Executive Committee for one-year mission in the islands. These three monks are Venerable Thích Nguyên Hòa as Deputy Head of Son Ca pagoda; Venerable Thích Quảng Kỉnh as Deputy Head of Song Tu Tay pagoda and Venerable Thích Quảng Huy as Deputy Head of Truong Sa pagoda.

Representatives from local authorities and over 100 reporters from central and local press agencies across the country also boarded the ship to the islands.

The ship also brought 38 gift boxes to people, soldiers and six pagodas in Truong Sa island sent by Khanh Hoa provincial authorities on occasion of the upcoming traditional New Year festival (Tet festival).
