The conference focused on discussion and analyses of results and shortcomings in the implementation of the resolution No 25-NQ/TW of the Party’s Central Committee on religious affairs adopted in 2003.

Addressing the conference, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Thào Hồng Sơn stressed the need for dissemination and implementation of the law on belief and religion, and urged the local authorities to continue creating favorable conditions for religious practice in the province.

On this occasion, local authorities presented certificates of merit to 16 groups and 28 individuals for outstanding achievements in implementing the Party resolution on religious affairs.

Currently, Ha Giang province has 19 ethnic groups, and is home to followers of Catholicism, Buddhism and Protestantism accounting for 2.8% of the provincial population.
