On May 18, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Đinh La Thăng led a delegation to visit the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Council in District 3 and Hue Nghiem Pagoda in District 2 on occasion of the Buddha Birthday Festival 2016 – B.E 2560.
During the visits, Secretary Đinh La Thăng extended best wishes to Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns and followers on occasion of the Buddha Birthday Festival 2016 and praised Buddhist dignitaries and followers for their practical contributions in social and charitable activities over the past time.
On behalf of the VBS, Most Venerable Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Council Thich Thiện Nhơn took the chance to thank the State leaders in general and HCM City leaders in particular for attentive support extended to the VBS over the past time. The Most Venerable also stated that the VBS’s Executive Council, Buddhist dignitaries, monks and followers in the country and overseas would continue preserving unity and promoting fine traditions of Vietnam Buddhism, contributing to the social-economic development in the city.
