Ho Chi Minh city Party Committee's Commission for Mass Mobilization held on June 1 a meeting for dissemination of the new law on belief and religion for local officials in the city.
The event was chaired by Chairwoman of the city Party Committee's Commission for Mass Mobilization Nguyễn Thị Lệ and attended by heads of offices from the city’s districts.
During the event, new contents of the Law on Belief and Religion were introduced by former Head of the city’s Delegation of National Assembly Deputies Huỳnh Thành Lập.
As reported, the Law on Belief and Religion was adopted by the 14th National Assembly at its second session last November. The new Law consisting of 09 chapters with 68 articles is the first promulgated code of law in the field of religion in Vietnam.
The new Law on belief and religion will officially take effect on January 1, 2018 replacing the Ordinance on belief and religion.
