On occasion of the Ramadan festival 2017, Ho Chi Minh city authorities sent delegations to visit and congratulate Islamic communities in the city on May 22-26.
The delegations led by Chairwoman of the Vietnam Women Union in the city Nguyễn Ngọc Bích and Chairman of Ethnic Affairs Committee Ngô Văn Triển respectively visited and met with the Islamic Community’s Representative Committee and Cham Muslim families facing with difficulties in Ho Chi Minh city at a meeting held on May 23.
During the visiting receptions, while extending best wishes the Islamic Community and Cham Muslims in the city, the city leaders asked Islamic communities to further promote fine traditions and make practical contributions for the socio-economic development in the city.
On occasion of the festival, Ho Chi Minh city authorities presented gift boxes to over 500 poor families of Cham Muslims in the city, each gift worth from VND 400,000 to VND 500,000.
This year, along with the Islamic communities in the world, Islamic communities in Vietnam will celebrate the Ramadan festival from May 27 to June 27.
