Hiep Thien Cung temple in Can Tho classified as national relic site

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued a decision to classify the architectural relic of Hiep Thien Cung temple as a national relic site.

Hiep Thien Cung Pagoda is located in Le Binh Ward, Cai Rang District, Can Tho City. It is called Ong Pagoda.

According to historical documents, Hiep Thien Cung temple was built in 1894 on a land area of 532 m². The temple worships Guan Gong, God of Blessing and Goddess Thien Hau. It was formerly built by the Chinese migrants from Guangzhou and Zhaoqing (Guangdong, China). In 1904, the temple was restored and renamed “Hiep Thien Cung” pagoda.
