On January 16, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC)’s People Council Nguyễn Thị Quyết Tâm led a delegation to visit Candaransi Pagoda ahead of the upcoming traditional New Year.
During the visiting reception with Most Venerable Member of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Council cum Abbot of Candaransi Pagoda Dang Lung, Mrs. Nguyễn Thị Quyết Tâm conveyed her New Year’s wishes to Buddhist dignitaries and followers in the pagoda, and encouraged young monks to learn foreign languages and skills of public and cultural diplomacy.

At the reception, Most Venerable Danh Lung informed to the guests achievements of the Khmer Theravada Buddhism in HCMC and its social contributions to socio-economic development of the city.
