Hai Phong province holds a conference to review 20 years implementing the movement “all people protecting national security in Catholic localities” (1994 - 2014)

On August 7th, the Standing Board of Hai Phong city’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee held a conference to review 20 years implementing the movement “all people protecting national security in Catholic localities” (1994 - 2014)

Attending the conference were Mr. Lê Bá Trình, Vice – Chairman of the Central Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF); representatives from  the Central Committee of the VFF, the Party Central Committee's Commission for Mass Mobilization  and the Ministry of Public Security; representatives from Hai Phong city People’s Committee, People’s Council, the provincial VFF and 120 delegates.

According to a report, the protecting national security movement of Hai Phong city has been implemented effectively and creatively, closely linked to other movements and campaigns launched by the State, the Party and the Central Committee of VFF and local authorities, and attracted a large number of Catholics. An outstanding result in recent years is the development of the movement in all religions and communities. Catholic followers in Hai Phong city always well observe policies and laws of the Party and State; actively participate in protecting security and order in their localities.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Lê Bá Trình, Vice – Chairman of the Central Committee of the VFF highly praised efforts of the local authorities in the movement in order to effectively implement the Party and the State’s policies and guidelines related to religion, especially Directive No.11 of the Ministry of Public Security on "Promoting mass movements to protect the national security in the Catholic localities” (1994 -2014).

At the meeting, 35 collectives and 15 individuals received certificates and medals of merit of the People's Committee, the Fatherland Front Committee, and the Municipal Public Security for excellent achievements in “all people protecting national security in Catholic localities” movement (1994 - 2014)./.
