On March 22-24, the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) in collaboration with Lai Chau provincial People’s Committee organized two legal workshops for local Protestants and officials.
The workshop on practices of Protestantism was attended by over 200 dignitaries, deacons and key followers in charge of Protestant congregations in Lai Chau province.
The workshop on state administration on Protestant affairs has over 150 participants who are key provincial and district-level carders in the province.
Speakers at the events included Acting Director of the GCRA’s Protestant Affairs Department Thiều Thị Hương.
Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Giàng A Tính attended opening ceremonies and delivered welcome speeches at the training workshops.
During the workshops, the Protestant Affairs Department under the GCRA delivered presentations on the Party and State’s policy and law on religion in general and Protestantism in particular; contents of the new Law on belief and religion, Protestantism in the world and Vietnam. Besides, participants also engaged in discussion of practical issues relating Protestant practices in the province.
These are two out of five training workshops organized by the GCRA in March this year in the North mountainous region.
