As many as over 400 Buddhist monks, nuns and followers in Nghe An province attended two conferences on religious law in the province held on June 18 and 21.
The dissemination events held by the provincial committee for religious affairs in collaboration with the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s executive committee in Quynh Hop and Dien Chau districts of the province covered topics on the Law on Belief and Religion and its guiding Decree No. 162. In addition, updated information on Buddhist affairs of the central VBS and functions and tasks of the provincial VBS’s executive committee was presented at the conferences.
Earlier, a same dissemination conference for over 200 Buddhist monks, nuns and followers in district of Nghi Loc, Hung Nguyen, Nam Dan and Cua Lo and Vinh city in the province has been held in Diec pagoda located in Vinh city.
Nghe An province currently is home to about 50,000 Buddhists with 67 monks and nuns.
