On June 7, Deputy Director of Locality III Department under the Committee of Ethnic Minority Phan Văn Tợ led a delegation to visit Mubarak Mosque in Tan Chau town’s An Giang province on occasion of the Ramadan festival.
Joining the delegation were Vice Chairman of An Giang provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyễn Thiện Phú.
Speaking at the reception, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Thiện Phú extended best wishes to dignitaries and followers of the Cham Muslim community on occasion of Ramadan festival and praised Cham community for practical contributions to the social-economic development, security and order in the locality. He also expressed hope that Cham community would continue preserving unity and promoting fine traditions, contributing to the sustainable development in locality.
This year, Ramadan festival began on June 6. This is the most important and holiest festival to Muslims in general, Cham people in particular.
