On November 29, the Southwestern Steering Committee and Soc Trang provincial Party Committee co-organized a meeting with key ethnic and religious people in the locality on the history of Vietnam Southern land.
Attending the event included Vice Chairman of the Southwestern Steering Committee Sơn Minh Thắng and over 600 delegates who are prestigious people of ethnic communities and dignitaries and deacons of religions in the province.
During the meeting, Ph.D, Historian Head of the Institute of Vietnamese Records Nguyễn Khắc Thuần briefed the development history of the Southern region with scientific and practical approaches.
According to Vice Chairman Sơn Minh Thắng, the meeting aims to enhance awareness on the history of the Southern land for local people in general and the ethnic minorities and dignitaries, deacons and followers of religions in Soc Trang province in particular, contributing to struggle against propaganda distorting the Southwest region’s history by hostile elements.
