Dong Thap provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee and Department of Home Affairs co-organized a conference on June 9 for the implementation of the Law on Belief and Religion to local officials and religious dignitaries in the province.
Attending the conference included Vice President of the VFF Central Committee Lê Bá Trình, Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Trần Tấn Hùng, Chairwoman of the VFF Committee in Dong Thap province Đặng Thị Mỹ Cẩm, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyễn Tôn Hoàng, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Đoàn Tấn Bửu, local authorities’ representatives, and nearly 500 religious dignitaries, deacons, clergymen and clergywomen and officials from the VFF, home affairs and justice sectors in the locality.

During the conference, GCRA’s Vice Chairman Trần Tấn Hùng shared with the participants key contents of the religious law and explained new points in the law.
The Law on Belief and Religion which will officially take effect on January 1, 2018, enacted with the aim to create favorable conditions for dignitaries, deacons and followers of religious organizations in practicing religious life and actively promoting their fine traditions, contributing to strengthen the great national unity bloc, Chairwoman Đặng Thị Mỹ Cẩm said.
