Dong Thap provincial authorities promote religious participation in environmental protection and climate change adaptation

Dong Thap provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and religious organizations signed a coordinating program for environmental protection and climate change response at a conference held on June 24.
Attending the event included Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyễn Tôn Hoàng and representatives of 12 religious organizations in the province.
During the event, the coordinating program “Promoting role of religions in environmental protection and climate change response” for 2015-2020 period has been signed by the representatives of 12 religious organizations in the locality.
As part of the coordinating program, the provincial VFF Committee and the religious organizations will collaborate to incorporate contents of environmental protection and climate change adaptation into working plans, enhance awareness and capacity, as well as develop and expand successful models for environmental protection and climate change response amongst religious communities.
