About 200 delegates attending the meeting included representatives from the Southwest Steering Committee, the provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Communication and Education, the provincial of Religious Affairs Committee and the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and religious dignitaries, deacons and followers in Lai Vung district.

During the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Communication and Education Committee Kiều Thế Lâm briefed the socio-economic development and religious situation in the locality, and development history of the Southwest region. Vice Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Võ Minh Hùng shared with participants on the Party’s viewpoints on the great all-nation unity bloc and State’s policies on ethnic minorities and religions.

During the event, the representative of Lai Vung district Party’s Committee acknowledged practical contributions made by religious followers and urged the local religious dignitaries to effectively encourage religious believers to live for “better secular and religious life” and make further contributions to patriotic movements for stability and socio-economic development in the locality.
