On September 4, 2014, Dong Thap provincial Department of Home Affairs in collaboration with the College for Professional Training on Religious Affairs under the Government Committee for Religious Affairs held a religious training conference for local officials at district level.
At the conference, participants learnt Party and State’s policies and laws on religion, religion in Vietnam, religion in the globalization context, current religious practices in Vietnam, current religious issues, experiences in dealing with ‘religious hotspots’…
Mr. Bùi Minh Hùng, Deputy Director of the provincial Home Affairs Department, Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs informed that the organization of the training conference aimed to provide local officials with additional basic and necessary knowledge on religion so they can better apply in dealing practical religion-related issues in the localities, as well as develop good relations with religious dignitaries and followers, contributing to stability and development in the communities.
