About 80 monks attending the Buddhist summer retreat in Tien Giang province have participated in a dissemination meeting on the new Law on Belief and Religion held on July 6 in Vinh Trang pagoda in the province’s My Tho city.
The event was organized by Tien Giang provincial Committee for Religious Affairs in collaboration with the organization board of the Buddhist summer retreat course.
The meeting introduced the new Law on Belief and Religion passed by the National Assembly in November last year and will be take effect in 2018, including the necessity for enactment of the new Law and its main contents, such as registration of religious activities, state recognition of religious organizations, responsibilities of competent authorities, etc.
