(VOVworld) – Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Trương Hòa Bình laid a wreath and paid tribute to superior Buddhist monk Thích Chơn Thiện in Hue city on Sunday.
Mr. Binh wrote in the mourning book that Thích Chơn Thiện, a dignitary of the Vietnam Buddhist Shangha, was a bright example of dedication for the country, religion, and the nation. He was Vice Chairman of the Executive Council of the Shangha and a 4-term National Assembly deputy. He represented the spirit of service and the close connection between religion and nation and was awarded many distinguished titles, including the Independence Order and Order of Great National Unity.
Superior Buddhist monk Thich Chon Thien passed away at 10.50 on November 8 at the age 74 due to an illness.
