Da Nang city’s Committee for Religious Affairs held a seminar on November 24 with the theme “Promoting roles of Buddhist dignitaries, followers and Buddhist establishments in the implementation of the cultural and civilized lifestyles”.
The event was presided over by Chairman of the city’s Committee for Religious Affairs Ngô Khôi, and attended by Most Venerable Vice Chairmen of the Da Nang city Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee Thích Chí Mãn and Thích Từ Tánh, local authorities’ representatives, dignitaries of the VBS executive board from the city’s districts, 108 Abbots of pagodas, monastery in Da Nang city.
The event is part of a program by Da Nang city’s authorities to gather comments from Buddhists and Buddhist establishments for promoting cultural and civilized lifestyles in the locality.
During the event, Venerable Thích Thông Đạo, Members of the VBS Executive Council cum Deputy Secretary of Da Nang city VBS’s Executive Committee shared Buddhist responses on the urban civilization and culture year 2015.
