According to this Decision,  Division of Ethnic and Belief Affairs is the professional unit with functions to advise and assist the Committee for Religious Affairs leaders in implementing state administration on ethnic, belief and other religions, (Minh Su faith, Baha'i religion ...) in the city.

Main functions of Division of Ethnic and Belief-related Affairs under Committee for Religious Affairs include: To advise the Committee for Religious Affairs’ leaders to propagate the guidelines and policies of the Party and laws of the State on ethnic, belief and religious affairs. To guide and implement legal documents regarding to ethnic, belief and religions;  recommend the Committee for Religious Affairs’ leaders on the handling of affairs and issues related to ethnic, belief and other religions in the locality in accordance with the law.
