The Chairman of Da Nang city People’s Committee has issued a directive for the implementation of the Law on Belief and Religion and its guiding Decree No.162 in the city.
The Directive No. 01 dated on April 02 asked municipal concerning departments and agencies and people’s committee of districts in the city to strengthen their coordination for guiding religious and belief establishments in the city in implementing the law and its guiding decree.
Under the instruction, the city home affairs department is held accountable to advise the municipal authorities on execution of its competence specified in the law; to disseminate the law to officials tasked with religious affairs and religious organizations and followers in the locality; to guide, inspect and supervise the state management on beliefs and religions in the city.
The home affairs department is also asked to revise previously issued documents on state administration on religions and belief and propose any amendment, supplement, replacement, and abolition or draft new documents relating to the state management on religious affairs in order to ensure consistency and conformity with the new law on belief and religion.
In addition, municipal concerning departments and agencies would be held accountable to perform their functions related to belief and religion in line with the new law.
