The Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) has issued a guiding document for activities of the provincial-level VFF during the Buddha’s Birthday Festival 2561 and Summer Retreat 2017.
Accordingly, the provincial-level VFF shall proactively coordinate with local authorities for creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha’s (VBS) Executive Committee in the provinces and cities, and the Management Board in the districts in the organization of the Buddha Birthday Festival 2561 as well as the Summer Retreat 2017 and Buddhist Congress for the 2017 – 2022 term.
The VFF in provinces and cities were also urged to the VBS’s chapters throughout the country for encouraging Buddhist dignitaries and followers to well practice their religion in accordance with the law and Buddhist charter, avoid indecent costumes, reduce votive offerings, prevent fortune telling, money-exchange for profit and other social practices contrary to Buddhist values at Buddhist establishments.
