On September 6, Deputy Head of the 14th National Assembly deputies in Lam Dong province Nguyễn Tạo presided over a meeting on the draft law on belief and religion and the draft law on association.
Regarding to the draft Law on Belief and Religion, meeting participants agreed with the necessity for continuing institutionalization of the Party’s provisions and Constitution 2013 on freedom of belief and religion, and accordance with international treaties relating to freedom of belief and religion.
Some delegates raised their comments on specific issues, such as the handling of violations in religious activities.
Many meeting participants also stated that contents stipulating for the right to freedom of belief and religion should be clarified in more details.
Comments on the two draft laws gathered during the meeting will be submitted to the National Assembly for consideration at its session held in October, 2016. The draft Law on Belief and Religion currently has 69 articles divided into 9 chapters.
