On occasion of the 85th of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF), Vice Chairman of VFF Trần Thanh Mẫn led a delegation to visit and meet with Khmer Buddhist dignitaries and followers at Pothisomrom pagoda in Can Tho city.
Most Venerable Chairman of the Can Tho city Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Executive Committee Đào Như expressed his thanks to the VFF and relevant ministries and sectors for their support to pagodas and local Buddhists in the locality. He also briefed about the Can Tho city Association for Solidarity of Patriotic Buddhist Bonzes’ activities over the past years.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman Trần Thanh Mẫn recalled the history of VFF in the past 85 years. He also acknowledged achievements obtained by the Khmer Theravada Buddhism as well as Khmer people in the past years and urged local authorities to further encourage people in observing the law, actively participating in the patriotic movement, building and maintaining the national unity bloc.
On this occasion, Vice Chairman Trần Thanh Mẫn and local authorities’ representatives presented gifts to 120 typical Khmer people.
