On August 20, Can Tho city Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics organized a conference to honor “Good People, Good Deeds” in Catholic communities for 2010-2015 period.
As reported at the ceremony, over the past years, the campaign “All people unite to build cultural life in residential areas and live a better secular and religious life” has been practically implemented in parishes and congregations in the city. Catholic communities have contributed nearly 7.7 billion VND in charity activities, built 485 charity houses worth over 5.2 billion VND. Funds raising for the poor have enjoyed an active response from Catholic followers with the total contribution of nearly eight billions VND. More parishes and Catholic families have been awarded the titles “the advance parish”, “typical Catholic families”,….
On this occasion, Can Tho city authorities presented the certificate of merit to 10 collectives and 31 individuals for their outstanding achievements in the movement.
