On August from 27 to 29, Ca Mau provincial Department of Home Affairs in collaboration with the Professional Training College under the Government Committee for Religious Affairs held two religious training conferences for local officials at district level.
The first conference took place on August 27 and 28 at Ca Mau province Library’s hall with the participation of 166 officials working on religion-related affairs from provincial and districts’ committees, departments, agencies.
The second conference was organized on August 28 and 29 at the office of the Peoples’ Committee of Ca Mau city with attendance of 306 officials who are vice-chairmen of commune-level People’s Committee, heads and deputy heads of commune –level People Committees’ subordinate units, secretaries and undersecretaries of Party cells and village chiefs in localities with large numbers of religious residents.
At the two conferences, participants learnt Party and State’s policies and laws on religion, religion in Vietnam, current religious practices in Vietnam, current religious issues… Experienced presenters in the conferences included Assoc. Prof. Mr. Nguyễn Thanh Xuân, former Vice-Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs and currently Superior Lecturer at Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy, and Mr Nguyễn Khắc Huy, Director of Legislation and Inspection Department under the Government Committee for Religious Affairs.
In addition, conference participants were allowed to engage in exchange and discussion sessions in order to reflect religious practices in their localities, share experiences, as well as raise practical issues for measures or solutions.
