Buddhist Chapter in Ninh Thuan releases fish seeds into river

Over 35 thousands of fish seeds were released into Dinh river in Ninh Thuan province by the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Chapter in the province on April 16. 

Attending the event included Senior Venerable Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee Thích Hạnh Thể, Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Tấn Thuyên, representatives of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and Department of Vietnam Directorate of Fisheries, and a large number of Buddhist followers in the locality. 

The release of fish seeds was preceded by Buddhists rituals and prayers for peace and prosperity at Buu Van Pagoda in Phan Rang-Thap Cham city’s Do Vinh ward.  

The launching program was collaborated with the Department of Vietnam Directorate of Fisheries, with the aim to raise the awareness and sense of responsibility of Buddhist monks, nuns and followers on protecting fisheries resources through the release of live stock, contributing to protect environment and biodiversity.
