Buddhist Bhikkhu sect holds 14th training on management of pagodas in HCMC

The 14th administrative training on management of pagodas of the Buddhist Bhikkhu sect took place on May 12-18 at Minh Dang Quang Monastery in Ho Chi Minh City.

Attending the opening ceremony of the training event included Deputy Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Discernment Council Thích Trí Quảng, Most Venerable Vice Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Council cum Abbot of Minh Dang Quang Monastery Giác Toàn, and about 300 monks and nuns who are heads of monasteries under the Buddhist Bhikku sect across the country.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Most Venerable Thích Giác Toàn praised the role of monks and nuns in maintaining and developing the Buddhist monasteries, as well as restoring degraded Buddhist places for better facilitating religious practices.

The religious training aimed to enhance skills and knowledge on the administration of pagodas for heads of Buddhist worshipping places and equip them with the VBS’s updates for better management of the Buddhist establishments.

During the religious training, on May 14, the Committee on Information and Communication under the Buddhist Bhikkhu sect made its debut with Venerable Giác Hoàng as its Chairman. The Buddhist sect has its official website www.daophatkhatsi.vn for communication and exchanges information.
