Binh Thuan province: VFF holds meeting with local religious dignitaries on environmental protection, climate change adaptation

On November 7, the Central Committee Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) held a meeting in Binh Thuan province to gather comments from dignitaries of Bani Islam and Brahmanism communities on the draft of the coordinating program between the Central VFF Committee’s Standing Committee, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment with religions on environmental protection and climate change adaptation.

The meeting was chaired by Vice President of the VFF Lê Bá Trình, and attended by representatives from the Nordic Assistance to Vietnam and the dignitaries councils of Bani Islam and Brahmanism communities in the locality.

At the meeting, the VFF introduced the proposed coordinating program between the VFF, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and religions on environmental protection and climate change adaptation.

Dignitaries of the two religious organizations made practical comments to the draft outline of the coordinating program and shared good patterns and campaigns on environmental protection in cases of natural calamities such as drought, flooding, etc.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice President Lê Bá Trình highly appreciated comments from religious dignitaries in the locality. He also expressed hope that religious dignitaries would proactively coordinate with the VFF at all levels to make practical contributions to the environmental protection and reduce climate change.
