At the meeting, prestigious people and religious dignitaries heard six-month reports on socio-economic development, defense and security, and results in implementing patriotic movements in religious and ethnic communities.

Currently, Bu Dang district has six operative religions with more than 52 thousand followers and 93 individuals honored as prestigious people. For previous years prestigious people and religious dignitaries in Bu Dang district have well played the role of encouraging people and religious followers to implement the Party and State’s polies and laws. Religious organizations have proactively engaged in charity activities in the locality; some pagodas have encouraged sponsors to provide scholarships to children with an estimated value of almost 1 billion VND. 

At the meeting, participants asked local authorities to speed up projects in ethnic communities, grant the land use right to people in new residential areas and create more favorable conditions for prestigious people in ethnic localities.

Mr Điểu Giá, Vice Chairman of Bu Dang district People’s Committee urged religious dignitaries and deacons to effectively encourage followers to live for “better secular and religious life” and practically contribute to the eradication of hunger, alleviation of poverty and strengthening of unity amongst ethnic peoples.
