A conference for dissemination of the law on election of the National Assembly’s deputies and members of People’s Councils to Buddhists of Dien Quang pagoda in the province’s Que Vo district was held on April 17.
The event was co-organized by Bac Ninh provincial Committee for Religious Affair, Que Vo district Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Board and Dien Quang Pagoda.
Attending the conference included Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Đinh Xuân Vịnh, Venerable Head of the provincial VBS Propagation Board cum Abbot of Dien Quang pagoda Thích Tâm Quán, Venerable Head of Que Vo district VBS Executive Board Thích Giới Thanh and nearly 1000 Buddhists of Dien Quang Pagoda.
During the conference, participating Buddhists learnt about the State policies on religious affairs, the current laws on election, as well as contents highlighting roles of religious organizations in the social and political in the country and results of preparation work for election of members of the National Assembly and local-level People’s Councils for the period 2016-2021.
