Bac Ninh province disseminates law on election of National Assembly and People’s Councils to local Buddhists

Bac Ninh provincial Committee for Religious Affairs held a conference for dissemination of the law on election of the National Assembly’s deputies and members of People’s Councils to local Buddhist dignitaries in the province on April 14.
The disseminating event was organized in collaboration with the provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Committee.
Attending the conference included Venerable Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial VBS Executive Committee Thích Thanh Trung, Venerable Director of the Buddhist College in Bac Ninh province Thích Thanh Dũng and over 200 Buddhist dignitaries who are members of the provincial VBS Executive Committee, district-level VBS Executive Boards, monks and nuns of the Buddhist College and Buddhist clergy in the province.
Representatives from the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs, Department of Home Affairs also joint the event.
During the conference, participating Buddhist dignitaries learnt about the current laws on election as well as contents highlighting roles of religious organizations in the social and political in the country and results of preparation work for election of members of the National Assembly and local-level People’s Councils for the period 2016-2021.
The conference provided an opportunity for local Buddhists to enhance their awareness of the law on election of members of the National Assembly and local-level People’s Councils, as well as their responsibilities as voters in the election.
