Eleven religious organizations in An Giang province were honored for their social contributions at a conference held on February 15.
The conference was held by the provincial People’s Committee for honoring practical contributions by local people and organizations for the 2011-2016 period in An Giang province.
During the event, 325 social organizations and individuals including religious followers and organizations were presented with certificates of merit for their outstanding contributions in social-charitable activities in the locality.
As reported at the event, in the past five years, over VND 4,000 billion has been spent on social programs for poverty reduction, development of the local transport system, medical charities for the poor, etc.
