The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Soc Trang held on November 14 a conference on state laws to religious and ethnic communities in the province.
The event drew 350 participants who are religious dignitaries, deacons, and elite people amongst ethnic communities.
The one-day event covered key contents of current state policies and laws relating to ethnic and religious communities, national unity and the Law on Environment protection 2020.
At the training conference
Soc Trang province currently has about 1.2 million people, of which ethnic minorities account for over 35% and Khmer people account for 31% of the majority follow Theravada Buddhism with 92 worshipping places. The province has nine operative religions with 600,000 followers and over 2,500 religious dignitaries and deacons.
