The Steering Board on Human Rights in Dong Nai province in collaboration with the office of the Government’s Human Rights Steering Committee held on October 23 a training conference on human rights affairs for key personnel tasked with human rights affairs in the province.

During the event, speakers from the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs presented topics on ensuring rights of freedom of belief and religion, and labor rights in international conventions and treaties signed or joined by Vietnam.
Dong Nai province has a population of nearly 3.3 million people with 51 ethnic communities. The province has 42 religious organizations belonging to 11 operative religions with over 1,796 religious worshipping places and nearly 2.3 million followers (accounting for two thirds of the provincial population). Over the past years, local authorities have well implemented the Party and the State’s guidelines and policies on human rights, especially policies on belief, religion, ethnic groups and workers, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.
