The event saw the presence of the Secretary of the provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Trịnh Văn Chiến, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Đình Xứng, and heads of concerning departments in the province.

Catholic dignitaries joining the event included Archbishop of Hue Giuse Nguyễn Chí Linh, President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam; Priest Giuse Trần Xuân Mạnh, President of the Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics cum Chairman of the Catholic Solidarity Committee in Thanh Hoa province; Bishop of Thanh Hoa diocese Giuse Nguyễn Đức Cường and Priest Vicar General of Thanh Hoa diocese Michael Trịnh Ngọc Tứ.

During the ceremony, while extending warm Christmas celebrations to participating Catholic dignitaries, Chairman Trịnh Văn Chiến, who is also Member of the Party’s Central Committee, took the change to inform results of socio-economic development in the province in 2018 year.

The Chairman also praised practical contributions by local Catholics in the province and expressed hope that local Catholics would continue proactively engaging in patriotic movements launched in the locality for socio-economic development.
