Social contributions by Christian communities in Bac Son

Lang Son province’s Bac Son district currently has 547 Catholic and Protestant households with 2,557 people.

Over the past years, local authorities have paid due attention to the advocacy work amongst religious communities and recorded encouraging results.

 Chien Thang commune in Bac Son district has met new-style rural standards in 2017 thanks to contributions of local authorities and all people, including Protestant households. There are 55 Protestant households in the commune and they mainly reside in Binh An village (accounting for 96.5% the village population).

Responding the national target program on new rural construction, all people in Binh An village bought in 2013 a concrete mixer truck by their own money for making village roads. Now the rate of concrete roads in Binh An village has reached over 80%. The village is one of the leading localities in the movement for making inter-village concrete roads.

Phuc Tien village in Vu Son commune is an entirely Protestant locality with 109 households.

For years, the village has known as a residential area without criminals and social evils. The party board in the village consists of 16 follower members. Local authorities have encouraged people to proactively take part in the movements and programs. The poverty rate in the village has decreased below 5%.
