Seminar on Protestantism in Gia Lai

The Institute of Ethnology under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences in collaboration with the Gia Lai provincial Committee for Religious Affairs held on December 12 a seminar on Protestant practices in Gia Lai since 1986.  

The seminar entitled “some issues relating to Protestantism in Gia Lai province since 1986” was co-chaired by Dr. Trần Thị Hồng Yến, Head of the religious affairs and ethnic minorities Board under the Institute of Ethnology and Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Văn Nô.

During the seminar, delegates focused their discussion on the development of Protestantism in the province; the recognition of Protestant churches, the state administration on Protestant worshipping places, religious and Protestant practices; the system of local state authorities facilitating Protestant practices; Protestant dignitaries and deacons’ role in the social life, etc.
