Regarding the new iron gate of Tay Dang communal house special national relic site which has aroused public criticism, the Cultural Heritage Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued a dispatch requesting the relic’s management board to dismantle the light system above the communal house’s gate and choose a new gate more suitable for protecting the relic’s original architect.
It is known that Tay Dang relic was one of the ancient communal houses of Vietnam which located in Dong village of Tay Dang town, Ba Vi district, Hanoi. The communal house was built about 500 years ago and ranked as a special national-level relic site in 2013.
Due to the old iron gate being rusted with hinges broken, the gate was replaced by the relic’s management board on occasion of Lunar New Year 2021. However, there were many opinions that the new gate had a modern design and not suitable to the original architecture of the traditional communal house in the country.
