Several delegations of religious organizations in Dong Nai province extended on February 4 visits to local authorities ahead of the traditional New Year (Tet) 2021.
The delegations from the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s (VBS) executive committee in the province led by Most Venerable Chairman of the committee Thích Nhật Quang, the office of Xuan Loc diocese led by Bishop Joseph Đinh Đức Đạo and Bishop John Đỗ Văn Ngân, and the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (ECVN) (South) and its representative committee in the province were welcomed by Secretary of the provincial Party’s Committee cum Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Nguyễn Phú Cường.
During the visiting receptions, religious dignitaries of local religious organizations extended Tet greetings to all officials and staff of Dong Nai provincial authorities.
While briefing results of socio-economic development in Dong Nai province last year, Secretary Nguyễn Phú Cường spoke highly of contributions of religious people for the socio-economic development in the province. He asked local religious dignitaries to encourage religious people to uphold fine traditions of unity and proactive social engagement for sustainable development in the locality.
