A delegation from of the provincial Committee for religious affairs of Tien Giang paid visits on January 13 to the executive offices of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s chapters in the province ahead of Vietnam traditional New Year (Tet) 2020.
The delegation led by Chairwoman of the committee Bùi Thị Mai visited the executive committee of the VBS in Tien Giang, the VBS executive board in the province’s My Tho city and the VBS sub-committee for nun affairs in the province.
Welcoming the delegation included Most Venerable Chairman of the provincial VBS executive committee Thích Huệ Minh, Seniour Venerable head of the VBS executive board in My Tho city Thích Quảng Lộc, and Nun Thích nữ Tịnh Thủy from the provincial subcommittee for nun affairs.

During the visits, while extending a new year of peace and happiness to Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns and lay Buddhists in the province, Chairwoman Bùi Thị Mai spoke highly of contributions made by local Buddhists for supporting the disadvantaged in the locality over the past years.
According to Ven. Thích Huệ Minh, the provincial VBS executive committee has successfully raised funds for presenting 2,000 gift sets to poor locals, Agent Orange victims and people with disabilities during the traditional New Year of the Rat, each set of gifts valued at VND 500,000 VND.
