The Committee for Religious Affairs in Da Nang city held on November 16 a meeting with Buddhist dignitaries nominated to attend the 9th national congress of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS).

The event saw the presence of Chairman of the municipal Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Cao Cường and representatives from concerning local authorities.
The Buddhist delegation included Most Venerable Thích Như Thọ and Most Venerable Thích Huệ Thường, Members of the VBS’s Discernment Council cum Members of the VBS Discernment Committee in the city; Most Venerable Thích Thiện Toàn, Member of the VBS Executive Council cum Chairman of the city VBS Executive Committee, and about 20 Buddhist monks, and nuns to attend the VBS congress to take place from November 27-29 in Hanoi.
During the event, Chairman Nguyễn Cao Cường extended congratulations to selected Buddhist dignitaries to attend the VBS’s national congress and expressed hope that the Buddhist delegation in the city would continue promoting fine traditions and making practical contributions to the country and the Buddhist Sangha.
