The provincial committee for religious affairs of Bac Ninh reviewed its performance in the first six months of 2020 at a meeting held on June 19.
The meeting chaired by Acting Chairman of the provincial religious committee Chu Quang Hảo saw the presence of representatives of the district-level office of home affairs in the province.
As reported at the event, in the last six months the provincial administration on religion in Bac Ninh solved several religion-related complaints, received 10 notifications regarding the changing Buddhist places of practicing monks and nuns, 12 notifications regarding the ordainment of Catholic clergymen, supported social charities of religious organizations, and guided the implementation of regulations for the Covid-19 prevention and control.
Due to the new corona virus, large gatherings for religious practices have been suspended in Vietnam in general and in Bac Ninh in particular for the last months, and important religious events, such as Vesak Festival and Easter, has also been canceled. Religious individuals and organizations have proactively observed the Prime Minister’s directives and provincial regulations for effectively preventing the spread of the pandemic.
