A delegation led by Chairman of the Committee for Religious Affairs in An Giang province Nguyễn Phú has visited Long Xuyen diocese for exchanges on religious affairs of the diocese in 2021.
Welcoming the delegation at the diocese’s pastoral center included Bishop Joseph Trần Văn Toản and priests in charge of deaneries and parishes in the locality.
During the excha meeting, Catholic priests gave comments on issues relating the Covid-19 preventing work, administrative procedures for establishing parishes and places for religious group practices, issues relating to religion-related land and construction, and the upgrade of Long Xuyen cathedral.

During the meeting, Chairman of the provincial religious committee gave explanations and recommendations for solving practical issues raised by priests regarding Catholic practices and affairs of local Catholic organizations.
The local official also expressed hope that Catholic dignitaries would continue encouraging parishioners to promote fine traditions, strictly observe prevention measures against Covid-19 pandemic in the current context, and proactively participate in the upcoming election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People’s Council at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure.
