An Giang provincial Committee for Religious Affairs held on April 10-13 two conferences on the implementation of the Law on Belief and Religion and its guiding decree No. 162 to local officials in the province.
The events jointly organized by district authorities of Thoai Son and Long Xuyen in the province were attended by over 210 district and commune levels officials representing local administration sector and social-political organizations.
The conferences focused on key contents of the law on belief and religion and the government decree No.162 on detailing a number of articles and providing measures for the implementation of the religious law. In addition, contents of the administrative procedures in the field of belief and religion for state authorities and the Party's Resolution No. 25 on religious affairs were also delivered to the conference participants.
So far, An Giang provincial authorities have organized conferences for the religious law implementation for local officials in seven out of 10 districts, and two similar conferences for over 300 dignitaries and deacons of Buddhism, Protestantism, the Pure-Land Buddhist Association and Caodai sects in the province.
